Nodestream Technology

Small and Medium Enterprises

Overview

Nodestream Technology is an Australian technology company delivering secure, ultra-resilient communications for mission-critical operations. Defence operations can involve distributed personnel, remote commanders and multiple assets operating across different locations. Each participant needs access to the same live operational information, even when communications must pass through bandwidth-constrained, high-latency, degraded or contested networks.

Nodestream transmits and integrates live video, audio, telemetry, and control data within a single operational environment. Distributed teams can maintain situational awareness, communicate across locations and retain control of remote and autonomous assets as network conditions deteriorate. The platform has been developed through more than a decade of experience supporting remote operations. It works with existing networks, platforms and operational systems across Defence, government, prime contractor and technology partner environments.

Capabilities

• Communications across constrained and contested networks: Nodestream maintains secure video, audio, telemetry and control data across low-bandwidth, high-latency and variable network conditions. Transmission automatically recovers and resumes when a viable connection returns. • Orchestration and aggregation: Live information from disparate assets, sensors and data sources is brought into a single synchronised operational view. • Remote command and control: Commanders can maintain persistent situational awareness from a remote location and exercise secure control over remote or autonomous assets. • Distributed ISR: Access to intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance feeds can be maintained across dispersed operations as network conditions deteriorate. • Teaming and collaboration: Remote personnel can see the same operational information, communicate with deployed teams and contribute to decisions in real time. • Remote expert support: Technical, operational and medical specialists can observe conditions and provide guidance without travelling into the operational environment. • Integration with existing systems: Nodestream operates across satellite, cellular, radio, mesh and other IP-based networks. It can integrate with existing C2, ISR and mission systems. • Controlled deployment: End-to-end encryption, role-based access, on-premises infrastructure and air-gap-capable deployment support operations with sensitive data and access requirements.

Unclassified examples of Nodestream’s Defence activity include: • Guerrilla Technologies: Collaboration that combines Nodestream communications technology with satellite connectivity and robotic platforms for connected, all-domain operations. • Five Eyes Defence environment: Deployment and evaluation of Nodestream technology within a Five Eyes Defence context. • EU Naval force: Nodestream connects vessel-based medical facilities with specialist personnel at hospitals ashore. Medical teams can share decision-quality video and audio over constrained or degraded networks during time-critical consultations.

Discriminators

• Interface, Network, and Asset-Agnostic: The platform is not tied to any particular sensor, platform, vehicle, network, or connectivity provider. It can bring information from different sources into the same operational environment. • Proprietary communications protocol: Nodestream’s patented protocol is engineered for network conditions where high latency, packet loss and intermittent connectivity are expected. • Ultra-low-bandwidth performance: The platform can reduce bandwidth consumption by up to 90% compared with conventional streaming technologies. • Resilient transmission: Nodestream is engineered to maintain communications under sustained packet loss of up to 40%. • One operational view: Video, audio, telemetry, and control data from multiple assets can be accessed through a single synchronised interface. • Proven capability: Nodestream is TRL9-certified and has accumulated more than 500,000 operational hours. • Australian-developed capability: The technology is designed, developed and delivered in Perth, Western Australia.

These capabilities keep distributed teams and assets connected to the same operational picture. Commanders retain situational awareness and control, while personnel in other locations can contribute expertise when network conditions are difficult.
