Overview

Benang is currently hunting for Defence contracts and is actively responding to Defence Estate Works Program Approaches to Market. Benang is also ready to be subcontracted by prime or master contractors supplying to Defence, particular to help fulfil Indigenous Procurement Policy (IPP) requirements. On 6 August 2026 Benang was included on the Defence-Ready Indigenous Supplier List. Benang is underway in applying for DISP membership.

Capabilities

Our capability includes the delivery of bulk and detailed civil works associated with the installation of underground and above-ground utility and energy conveyance systems, including earthworks, trenching, excavation, directional drilling, structures, concrete works, drainage, road construction, pavement reinstatement and associated infrastructure.

Supported by an experienced workforce, specialist plant and integrated project delivery systems, Benang has the capability and capacity to safely deliver complex utility infrastructure projects while scaling to larger civil construction packages as project scope and client requirements evolve.

Benang’s ownership is 70% Indigenous Australian and it averages 28.2% for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participation across its projects and operations with 0% Lost Time Injuries or Environmental Incidents. Benang self-performs the full project lifecycle including design, fabrication, construction, commissioning, maintenance and decommissioning across the power, gas, water and civil sectors.
