OFI is a specialist electrical contractor with over 15 years of Defence experience across Australia. Completing works for projects under a variety of challenging conditions, remote areas, OFI prides itself in its ongoing relationship with Department of Defence and has extensive experience in Defence base electrical installations and upgrades. Having previous collaborations with Head Contractor and Managing Contractor models, OFI values safe, secure, efficient and effective design, manufacturing, installation and commissioning processes for long-lasting, quality results. With works completed on Fuel Remediation, Jet Fuel and Space Telescope sites OFI has obtained varied experience and understanding of completing works within the Defence sector.

Electrical Works

  • Overview: OFI was contracted to supply, install and handover electrical works. This included works on the Transmit Group Building, Transmit Chiller Building, the Power Station, the Operations Building, the System Spares Building and the site-wide electrical works. This team provides tangible benefits in terms of planning flexibility, responsiveness, onsite attendance, ongoing cost containment and continuity of purpose.

Upgrade Control System

  • Location: Perth
  • Project Value: $2m - $5m
  • Year: 2021
  • Duration: 15 months
  • Overview: OFI was contracted to upgrade the control systems within the HMAS Stirling fuels network, including design, installation and commissioning of ESD system comprising of safety PLC’s and E-Stops, tank monitoring and truck bay control integrated with HMI control within the control room and inside the new MCC.

High Voltage Upgrades

  • Location: Exmouth
  • Project value: $5m - $10m
  • Year: 2021
  • Duration: 12 months
  • Overview: OFI was contracted to design, construct and install 7 high voltage kiosks to replace aging infrastructure at a Naval Communication Base.
